Out cold

When we were on our way home from the ultrasound, Cameron fell asleep about 5 minutes before we got home. I figured he would wake up as soon as I took him out of his car seat and be awake for good. I carry him in the house (awake) and hear my cell phone ring. I set him down in the kitchen to answer my phone. As I'm talking on the phone, he proceeds to lay down on the kitchen floor and go back to sleep! I had to exercise a lot of restraint not to laugh out loud! I felt bad leaving him there, but didn't dare try to move him for fear he'd wake up. So there he stayed, fast asleep for ~45 minutes! Think he was tired?

Lookin' Good!

My ultrasound went very well! Everything looks great. The heart, brain, stomach, kidneys, bladder, spine: everything is present and accounted for! Also, no sign of a cleft lip, which is a relief. I am 20 weeks and 1 day. They were only off by one day on the due date, which is impressive. I am feeling movements quite a bit more these days as Alexis is getting bigger and stronger! They said she weighs 12 ouces (the same as a full can of soda) and is ~7 inches from crown to rump (not including legs).

Halfway there!

Can you believe the day has actually come when I can say I am halfway through my pregnancy? (Okay, okay, in 1 hr. 52 minutes!) Who knew this day would ever come? Surely not me. I am anxious for my ultrasound on tuesday. They will be able to tell us if everything looks healthy: all 4 chambers of the heart, the brain development, the spine, etc. I can always breathe easier knowing things are going the way they should be. Hey, it's all downhill from here, right?!

It's a girl!

Well, we are very excited to announce that we are expecting a girl! My due date is July 15th. Her name is Alexis McKell. (We're just about 90% sure of the middle name!)I just got a UPS package of baby clothes I ordered from Gymboree. They are so adorable. Cameron understands as much as to be expected from a 2 year old. He talks to my stomach and says hi to Alexis. He likes to look at her picture (the ultrasound) and point out her hair!
